What Every Hard Working Mommy & Daddy Need ;)

I got a great surprise Saturday night.

Wanna know what it was?

That may not sound too exciting but when you have two small kids and you both work it’s hard to have a quite night out. (and LA doesn’t count, because we are so tired from the long plan ride and it’s always a quick trip)

David surprised me with The Melting Pot. Neither of us had ever been there. He even had a Dozen roses in a huge vase on the table waiting. It was such a nice evening and the food was amazing.

If you’ve never been to the Melting Pot I absolutely think you should check it out. It can be a little pricey depending on what you get, but it’s not too bad.

We got the Four Course Classic so we could try everything.
We started with a cheese of our choice (Wisconsin Trio). It came with veggies, breads, and apple cubes (which, as weird as it sounds, tasted amazing with the cheese).

The second course was salads (we both went with a classic Caesar salad).

The third course came with Mahi Tuna, Chicken, Shrimp, Sirloin, mushrooms, red potatoes,  and another type of steak all in different seasoning.  We went with the Court Bouillon for our cooking style (which is just a seasoned veggie broth)

These also came with some delicious sauces. (Curry, Gorgonzola port, Green Goddess , ginger plum,  and teriyaki glaze) Neither of us was crazy about the curry but the rest were fantastic.

Then we were on to the best part…….DESERT! We had the Flaming turtle; which is a milk chocolate, camal, and candies pecan mix. It’s all mixed together at the table and flambéed.

This came with another assortment of goodies.

Cheese cake, marshmallows, brownies, pound cake, rice crispy treats, bananas  and of course strawberries.

It was a fantastic diner. We were lucky enough to have a great waiter that walked we newbies through the dinner. At the end they even took our picture, printed off, and gave us a magntic frame. It was just so nice and so needed.

Not The Picture They Took

  1. Sounds like a fun evening! I LOVE The Melting Pot and I prefer the cheese and dessert courses and skip the rest (though they are good, too)! Hopefully this was a pre-cursor to a signed contract in your very near future:o)
